UN condemns Guatemala for forcing a girl to become a mother
This is a headline that I find very encouraging in today’s post Dobbs America where I am not free to choose what to do with my body. I think it’s great that the world sees that forcing babies to have babies is abhorrent and a disgusting barbaric practice that should not only be stopped but be perused with every avenue of law to bring the rapists to justice.
I donate to the center for reproductive rights for reasons like this. They fight the fight across the world. And although our government has failed us in america and women do not have rights to their own body, it is heartening to see that on the world stage, in the world courts, people see the inhumanity of it all and are working to stop it. Maybe someday we will have those rights in america again… Sadly much must happen before they come back… Including having a president who will appoint justices that care about civil rights and not their religious views more than the health and wellbeing of women. And the bad justices must die, which is an outdated asinine thing in our government… If you are supposed to protect my civil rights, I should be able to remove you if you are not doing your job and right now, you assholes are not doing your job and have not been doing your job since roe was overturned.
